Embodying Awareness
"Embrace the Present: A Somatic Journey to Awareness"
"Your task is not to seek for love, but merely to seek and find all the barriers within yourself that you have built against it"
Rumi
Embodiment is the practice of turning inward to notice thoughts, feelings, sensations, and intuitive perceptions as they express through the body. By attending to these sensations, we use the body as a compass to guide our movements. The practice of embodied self-awareness directly impacts the autonomic nervous system, promoting health and recovery. In an embodying awareness sessions, participants focus on the present moment, attuning to physical sensations, emotions, and surroundings to cultivate mindfulness. Research shows that somatic practices reduce stress, balance hormones, and support weight management, especially for women experiencing high cortisol levels, PCOS, perimenopause, or menopause.
